Colleen was inspired to set up a charity to help Russian orphans during her first trip to Russia to adopt
her eldest son in 2006. Together with other adoptive parents, she set up Helping Orphans in
2008. Colleen brings sound management experience to the executive team and has a strong personal commitment
and the passion to ensure that our vision gets executed. She has over 20 years experience as a consultant
and in senior management positions in both the private and public sectors and holds an MBA from McGill
University. Colleen and her husband completed their family with the adoption of their second son from Russia
in January 2009.
Kristine Taylor-Lee Director of Development
With over 11 years of experience in the federal and local government, Kristine has a breadth of operational, policy and
corporate management experience. Kristine holds a bachelor degree from the University of Victoria in Geography and
Environmental Studies, and Master's Degree from Queen's University in Urban and Regional Planning, and has experience
working overseas in Melbourne, Australia as an Urban Planner. Kristine spends her spare time with her husband and son,
and travels to Victoria, B.C. regularly, to visit her family and hometown.
Greg Bechard Events Coordinator
Greg was very excited to be able to support HOPE and their board with fundraising activities locally in the
Greater Toronto Area. He has been involved with fundraising events at the Adoption Horizons annual picnic
and Christmas party. Greg and his wife Shelley who have a son Liam completed their family with Ava in 2007
from Syzran Russia. Greg is also a member of the Adoption Horizon's board.
Liudmilla Nossova Project Coordinator
Liudmilla first started working with Helping Orphans in the winter of 2011. Her first project was to assist
in arranging for life changing surgery for a six year old orphan living in Myski. She provides translations
and coordinates all communications with our partners in Russia. Liudmilla has a PhD in Chemistry and works
in a federal government research centre. She immigrated to Canada from Novosibirsk and travels back to Russia
frequently to visit friends a family.
